BlastZone Superstar Inflatable Party Moonwalk Review

Summary: Huge, no-frills bounce house made of heavy-duty materials. Large enough to play coordinated/team games.

Size: 14' x 14' x 7' H
Kids*: 5 (or 500 lbs total weight)
Features: Extra-Large Floor
Cost: $399.99
Includes: Strong UL blower, ground stakes pack, large carrying bag, repair kit, instructions

The Superstar Moonwalk by BlastZone is huge. It has a very large floor and is made of top-quality, interwoven oxford cloth, with an inner air membrane for support. It's very high-quality for a residential bounce house. No wonder it's immensely popular with parents who want to buy one to use at a birthday party or for frequent playgroups with lots of kids. Its sporty orange and purple colors are welcomed by parents who prefer a more "mature" look than the typical red-yellow-blue primary colors found in many other bouncers.

Although the manufacturer's recommendation is a maximum of 5 kids, it's not uncommon to see twice that many kids, ranging from ages 1-8, even with a 200-lb adult lying in the middle to supervise. And parents report no problems of leakage or damage with that much wear and tear. It's built to last for many years.

The Superstar Moonwalk focuses on being a top-notch bouncer without all the extras. No ball pit, no big slide, no climber, no basketball hoop. Kids just have plenty of room to run and bounce. And without the extra height that some other bounce houses have, it can still easily fit in a garage or basement to play during rainy days or the winter season.

With its large floor, it's like a mini-gym. Kids can play coordinated/team games such as Red Light/Green Light, Tag Team Bounce Races, Crab Kick Soccer, and Simon Says. The possibilities are endless!

The Superstar Moonwalk may be big, but setup is very easy with inflation taking about 2 minutes with its powerful UL blower (which is no louder than a blow dryer).

*Approximate number of kids based on manufacturer's recommendation. Kids should be about 3-12 years old and under 100 lbs. each. As parents, we know that all kids vary in size, weight and energy-level, so use your best judgement.

What Others Are Saying

Here are some reviews from people like you who have purchased this bounce house.

We bought this for our son's 1st birthday party. We figured it was a good price for the size and we'd have it to use year after year (if it held up). The quality is very good. The floor was made of nice and thick material. The netting was sturdy and secure. I am 6'2 and 210 pounds, and while I couldn't get in it and go crazy, I was more than able to get in with my son and help him bounce around. It held up great with about 6 or 7 10-year old kids. It kept them busy all day so the adults could relax. Overall...this was a great investment and I am really looking forward to next summer so we can use it again." —Derrick W. Davis

I was looking for a larger bounce house for our basement for my, at that time, not even 1 year old and her two year old brother. Since playgroup at my house can be crazy, I also wanted to make sure that any bouncer we had could handle quite a few toddlers. Commercial grade bouncers were just out of the question due to cost (usually in the thousands) but this appeared to be at the upper end of the residential grade bouncers and as the company also makes a commercial grade of this same bouncer, I felt they likely knew what they were doing....I was right!

We have had this product now for 4 months and its used EVERY day by at least my children if not a dozen others. No problems, no complaints and it works like a dream. We just leave it out in the basement and leave the quick deflate valve tied off. This lets my 2 year old go down and turn it on himself. My now 1 year old daughter climbs right into the middle and waits patiently as the bounce house inflates around her and then they both go crazy! My 2 year old even turns it off himself when he is done. With the quick deflate tube tied off all the time it just takes a bit longer to completely deflate but that isn't an issue and allows my 2 year old to feel the independence to do it himself.

One review said the bounce house was too firm. No way. It is a larger bouncy and it can handle quite a few toddlers and young children without deflating (the max we have had in it at once was one supervising adult...just sitting in the middle, 7 toddlers, 2 infants and 2 older children). Any softer and the bouncy couldn't handle the volume. Shoot, if my at the time 10 month old can bounce on her knees all over it, its not too firm. Speaking of which, yes a full-sized 200 pound adult can get in...you just can't bounce. There is almost always an adult inside our bouncer because most of the children using it are 2 and under. Toddlers have this tendency to knock over the infants if somebody isn't supervising just because they are toddlers!

In four months of everyday use, many parties and playgroups, we have no leaks or other issues. I am very strict about no toys other than balls in the bouncer to protect it. Do watch if you have it in a basement unless you tie it down somehow as it will drift (as any bouncer on carpet would with that many children bouncing) and it just needs to be moved back into place now and then so the air supply line doesn't get crimped (no big deal). The air supply line and pump does take up some space so coming off the back you need at least a few feet of clearance. I have never put it back in its bag so I can't comment there but it is heavy so not something you would want to pack and unpack on a daily basis but it would certainly be reasonable to drag it outside now and then without issues. It does come with stakes for tying it down outside.

In general, when compared to my friend's bouncers, this far exceeds them all. It handles the volume of children for a party, is a reasonable price for the amount of bouncer you get, is easy to inflate and deflate (if a 2 year old can do it on his own you know its easy), is durable, gets to the point by not wasting space on small useless ball pit attachments and for its size is actually pretty low profile making it reasonable for a basement (unlike some of the larger castle varieties).

Highly recommend!" —M. Valuckas

We bought this bounce house for our 1 yr old and 6 yr old for Christmas. Our 1 yr old has some vision/balance issues and we thought a ball pit, bounce house, or trampoline would be great therapy. I am not a big fan of trampolines and the reviews for this bounce house were great. ... Almost everyday after school, our 6 year old wants to bounce—great exercise for kids! ... Overall, one of our best purchases for our kids yet. They are quite spoiled after this one!" —R. Durham

This bounce house is awesome..it has a big bounce area so easily 5 kids can bounce at the same time. It seems very durable and we have had no issues." —Susan

This is a wonderfully huge bouncy house (but could still fit in a large basement)! We wanted one that would hold lots of kids — our own, plus all the neighbors who would run over to play — and this perfectly fits the bill! Our neighbors thought it was a rental because of its size!" —Kate V.

When my wife called to say she was buying a bounce house for the boys (age 5, 6, 8) I was hesitant to get one from the internet. We have been renting them three times a year, ... so we felt it would be a good idea to buy one. As usual, she proved me wrong. My kids adore this thing.

The overall height was low, and since we wanted something we could use inside and out, we decided to go with the Superstar because it seemed like the best value. The Super Star turned out to be bigger than I expected, but it still fits in our garage, which is a huge bonus for us when it's cold. We put a tarp on the floor underneath it. The picture looks like it's open, but the front actually velcro's shut so the kids are kept inside with no problem.

Our boys treat it like you'd expect - like it's a big wrestling ring. It has held up pretty well, and I think the ideal age range is 3-8. Our 8 year old is big for his age, and he likes playing in it, but the younger kids seem to like it even more. They want to sleep in it, but I don't know how they'd be able to sleep in it with the fan going the whole time.

Buying the bounce house online and not being able to test it person worried me. Now that I see my 3 boys on it having an amazing time, I am so glad my wife purchased it. This summer we have been setting the Super Star up outside. The boys play on the bouncer for a few hours before coming inside exhausted.

Pros:
* Easy to set up
* Can be used indoors and outdoors
* Tires the kids out!
* Has lasted me six months with no problems
* Comes with a carrying bag
* Blows up and is ready to use in only a couple of minutes
* Low overall height (I think 7ft or so)

Cons:
* Takes about 10 minutes to roll the bouncer tightly for storage
* The air blower is loud, but a lot quieter then the rental bounce house blowers we have used in the past (louder than a hair dryer, not as loud as a vacuum)."

For such an expensive purchase for kids to have as a toy, I was skeptical, but thanks to all of the positive reviews this product received, we decided to make the plunge...we just got it yesterday, and set up was a breeze...a little on the heavy side, but that's because the materials used are very heavy duty for a "consumer" bounce house...as promised, it inflated within a minute or two, and the kids' eyes lit up...a 5 year old girl and an 18 month boy were thrilled...contrary to the picture, there are velcro sealers to keep the door flaps closed securely so that lil ones can't fall out...the unit is very sturdy for toddlers, although not for adults, as the package says...The kids loved playing in it, and it is about 6 feet tall total, so it will be nice to set up in the basement during the winter so the kids can burn off some energy...The design is kind of basic...nothing overly fancy...but I didn't pay for fancy, I paid for bouncy, and hoped for heavy duty...and that's exactly what I got for the money....To test the strength of the bouncer, I had my daughter ram one of the corners to see if it would give out under a direct assault...she bounced off, and the bouncer passed another safety test. ... This is one of those things that we wished we had as a child...and this particular bouncer is going to be a hit for years to come..." —Steve O.

This is the best bounce house I've seen on my search to buy one. It's SOOO worth the money!!! Used it for a kids party and they loved it... they didn't want to leave! I'm so glad I decided to buy one rather than rent one of those huge commercial moonwalks. We can use it over and over! Again, SOOO worth the money. Only problem, but not a biggie, is that is does not fit into the duffle bag that came with it. But still I'm a happy Mom. :) Love, love, LOVE IT!!!!" —Alicea
